| what's up, you two people who read my weblogs. long time, but a lot has happened. first of all, we played at the battle of the bands. it was so amazing. we played "come together" by the beatles and "i believe in a thing called love" by the darkness. we made it in the finals, but lost. still, it was amazing and a hell of a lot of fun.
right now, i just can't wait until i go off to college. argh ... two more months. actually, 37 more school days for me. get me out of high school someone. well, i've been getting e-mails from people at isy. a bunch of sophomores that i don't remember all too well. by the who, who is alius? do you go to isy?
fuck, koreans are the worst revolutionaries in the world. i'm sorry if i offend you koreans out there (jae), but it's true. have you been watching the news lately? i feel like i should go and charm the korean people into making me omnipotent ruler of korea. maybe then, i can live out my fantasy of swimming in a pool of jello. eh, probably not. it was worth a shot, though.
| okay...so i need help. i'm in this new band and we're gonna compete in this thing called battle of the bands. there's a bunch of songs we want to do, but we can only choose 5. so, tell me what you think. which five?
here they are:
1) i want you back - jackson 5 2) iris - goo goo dolls 3) semi-charmed life - third eye blind 4) never let you go - third eye blind 5) buffalo soldier/no woman no cry medley - bob marley 6) purple haze - jimi hendrix 7) dazed and confused - led zeppelin 8) aicha - outlandish 9) stacy's mom - fountains of wayne 10) this time around - hanson
i know some of those songs suck, but we're just looking for crowd pleasers and all of them are. anyway, tell me what you think. personally, i want to do # 2,4,5,9, and 10. tell me what you think.
| hmmm ... what's new? well, i've been growing out my hair for the past six months. just been too lazy to get it cut. and it has light brown highlights. what else? oh yeah, i still have yet to grow facial hair. that pisses me off, but it makes sense i guess. i can take my hair and twist it in front of my face and i sort of look like an asian yosemite sam.
and i got contacts, but i don't ever wear them. they're so damn hard to put in and take out and take care of. the cool thing though is that they're blue. i haven't worn them in two weeks.
i talked to will, aung la, and jae gu this past week. strange. i haven't talked to these guys in forever. will and aung la are the same. jae is the same, but he seems more mature. where are you, leah?
| I have three days off before school starts up again. There's this Muslim Holiday here called the Eid, so I get to chill and recuperate from the Netherlands before getting back to school. Anyway, MUN in Holland was so fucking amazing. If you don't know, Holland is a non-stop party. After nine hours of debating and resolution writing, my friends and I would basically hit downtown and stay there until curfew. Wow. Don't worry, though, no drugs for me or for my friends.
Well, aside from that. I am going to COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY this coming fall semester. I'll be joining my sisters in the legacy, as my mother calls it. I still haven't decided what I want to do, but I've narrowed down the field from 200 to 20. Hopefully, I'll have some idea by my sophomore year. But, New York City ... how fun is that? I already met some people who go there and I know some people who will be going there next year. So, I've already gotten a posse together. Plus, the Knicks are gonna kick ass next year with Stephon Marbury and Alan Houston.
Anyway, that's some real news about me. And for some reason, I've been listening to Jay-Z's "Change Clothes" for the past four hours.
| My last weblogs have been pretty stupid, I just realized. So I thought this time I would talk about my life. I just got back from a week of Model United Nations in the Hague. Wow. That was the most fun shit ever. If you have never been to the Netherlands, I suggest you get up out of your lazy ass now and fly, hitch-hike, walk, drive, or swim to the Netherlands. The only thing is, it's expensive as hell. But it's fucking worth it.
Other than that, I'm bored. College is all done, I got accepted, just have to wait for the financial aid package. I'm waiting for my reply by the National Merit Scholarship Program. And I'm filling out my application for the Presidential Scholar. Yes, I am a fucking nerd, but I'm okay with that.
That's about it. I hope you are all having fun.
